- On the day of the Feast of the Most Holy Redeemer a bridge of barges is built connecting Giudecca island and Il Redentore to the rest of Venice.
- Il Redentore (Chiesa del Santissimo Redentore), is a 16th-century Roman Catholic church designed by the architect Andrea Palladio and built to give thanks for the end of the terrible plague of 1576.
- The Festa del Redentore is held the third Sunday of July.
- The bridge starts on the Zattere, a wide waterfront promenade.
